Fungaia – family craft workshop
Under our feet there is an amazing invisible network of fungus which, a bit like the internet, enables trees to communicate with each other. These connections enabled through fungi are integral to the lives of all species, including humans.
Filament Works presents Fungaia!
Join artists Sarah Lawrence and Clare Parker for a free, immersive, family‑friendly experience featuring two interconnected activities that explore this network and the myriad of crazy forms that fungi take, inviting playful engagement, creativity and curiosity.
Visitors can explore a collection of large, interactive wearable fungi and spore head sculptures made from recycled materials, before taking part in a hands‑on mushroom‑making craft workshop.
In the drop-in workshop visitors can use simple craft materials and paints to make and decorate your own unique fungi to take home.
Mushrooms come in all shapes and sizes – what super-powers, shapes and colours will your fungi display?
Further information
