Cockington Court announces a monster’s egg trail for Easter!

This Easter, Cockington Court has been hatching eggs of a more unusual kind. Take a trip down to Cockington Court and you will find that fluffy chicks have made way for some incredible, out of this world creations. It’s time to experience the family friendly monster’s egg trail, at Cockington Court!

A team of makers have been busy creating a host of fun and eye-catching eggs that buck tradition and offer an extraordinary, egg spotting adventure around the Court buildings and the Manor House studio areas. Discover dragon, griffin, dinosaur and other surprising monster egg creations. Each egg has carefully been made by hand, by local sculptures, makers, painters and community artists. Trail sheets are available from the Cockington Court Gallery and Seven Dials Café. Come back and tell us how many you spot to receive a special treat!

Marissa Wakefield, Cockington Court Director said: “This year we thought we’d do something entirely different for our Easter trail. It was the perfect opportunity to let our creative imaginations run wild, and the results do not disappoint! From dinosaur eggs to colourful monster creations, you won’t know what to expect hiding around the Court buildings and craft studios. Everyone is welcome to explore the trail and see the work of local talented artists and makers.”

The trail will be in place from 9-22 April 2022, 11am-4pm daily. Trail sheets are available for £2. The Monster’s Egg Trail runs in conjunction with Cockington Court’s latest exhibition, Gods and Monsters. Free to view in the Cockington Court galleries from 2 April – 22nd May 2022.  The Gods and Monsters exhibition is family friendly and based on fantasy, science fiction, myths, and legends. It is a mixed media exhibition by local artists, makers and sculptors covering ceramics, jewellery, 2D paintings, prints and sculptures.
