Cockington Court’s annual Apple Day returns to bring fun for all the family.

The popular autumnal event takes place on Sunday 13 October between 11am and 4pm with free entry to the public.

What’s on

There will be a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, live music, an apple-inspired baking competition, face painting and over 40 market stalls selling food, drinks and crafts. The on-site Seven Dials Café will be serving food and drinks all day.

There will also be some new additions to this year’s event, including a Craft Bus, Angel Heart Theatre and Elfic the comedy juggler.

Apple Press

A traditional apple press will be on the front lawn where demonstrators will be turning apples into juice and describing how to transform the juice into delicious homemade scrumpy. Visitors can also bring their own apples for pressing, for a small donation.

How to get here

Parking at Cockington Court is limited so visitors are encouraged to carshare or travel to the event via the Apple Day shuttle bus. The bus is free and will run regularly between the Strand in Torquay and Cockington Court from 11am to 4pm.

For those travelling by car, pay and display parking is available on site but please bring cash with you for the parking machines.

Baking competition

Visitors are also encouraged to take part in the ‘Taste Off’ baking competition. All apple-inspired baking is welcome including cakes, jams and tray bakes. Participants should bring along their baked creations to the Sea Change studios behind the Manor House at 11am for judging.

While you’re visiting…

Alongside Apple Day activities, resident Cockington Court makers will be showcasing their creative skills in their studios, providing visitors with the opportunity to learn about their craft and purchase their creations.

Visitors can also explore the free, pirate and deep sea-themed Sculpture Trail which runs until 3 November. The trail features over 30 different sculptures located around the Manor House and grounds.
